All Stages in the project life cycle have the following common features:

• Clearly defined set of Deliverables
• Exit/Sign-off Criteria Defined at the beginning of the Stage
• Preferably, each stage should have a Beta milestone
• Each Stage ends in a Milestone, generally characterized by Exit Criteria Sign-off
